Emergency Medical Assistance
Financial support for emergency treatments and surgeries — hospital deposits and urgent bills settled directly with the hospital, released within 24 hours when a life is at stake.
"Together, we can bring hope, healing, and dignity to those who cannot afford medical care."
Our medical mission
Access to healthcare is a basic human right — yet in the neighbourhoods we serve, a single hospital bill can undo a family's savings of a decade. Parents delay their own treatment to keep children in school; elders quietly stop buying medicines when the pension runs out; and an accident or a sudden diagnosis can mean choosing between a surgery and a roof.
Erakathin Uthavi stands between a poor family and a bill they cannot pay. We settle hospital fees directly with the hospital, put prescribed medicines into patients' hands every month, bring free screening camps to the streets people actually live on, and stay with each family until the treatment — and the recovery — is complete. Our long-term vision is simple: a community where illness is met with care, never with debt.
What we do
Every programme is run with volunteer doctors, nurses and health workers — and every rupee is receipted and audited.
Financial support for emergency treatments and surgeries — hospital deposits and urgent bills settled directly with the hospital, released within 24 hours when a life is at stake.
Essential medicines for patients who cannot afford them — monthly prescriptions for diabetes, blood pressure, asthma and other chronic conditions, filled without fail.
Health screening camps and preventive healthcare programmes — blood sugar, blood pressure and eye checks, plus a free medicine counter, brought to a different street each month.
Support for patients requiring life-saving surgeries and specialised treatments — heart procedures, accident surgeries and cancer care, funded against verified hospital estimates.
Healthcare support for pregnant women, infants and young children — antenatal checkups, safe deliveries, vaccinations and nutrition support for the first years of life.
Regular health checkups, medicines and home care support for senior citizens — including a doctor's visit every Tuesday at our Ramanathapuram care home.
Our impact
Counted honestly, audited annually, and published in full every April.
